Goleta Magazine Unveiled at March “Business After Hours”
A VIP-studded Business After Hours mixer at the beautiful Pacifica Suites hotel was the setting as the Goleta Valley Chamber of Commerce launched its 2010 edition of Goleta Magazine on Wednesday, March 24th. Dozens of Santa Barbara area professionals and local dignitaries enjoyed delicious wines, sampled treats from a lavish gourmet buffet and admired the newly published annual magazine.
Officials in attendance were City of Goleta Mayer Eric Onnen, Goleta Councilmember Michael Bennett, Goleta Union School District President and Chamber Vice President Valerie Kushnerov and GUSD Board Member Bill Gadsby. Chamber President/CEO Kristen Amyx, along with Valerie Kushnerov, lauded a variety of contributors for their involvement with the publication, including Wilson Printing; Media 27 for overall graphic design as well as the stunning cover; photographers Linda Allen Blue, Lindsey Eltinge, Ellen Guhring and Barbara Keyani; and numerous writers.
ATK Space Systems was also recognized at the event as the long-standing and immensely successful Goleta-based company featured in the magazine's cover story. To request copies of the new Goleta Magazine, contact the Chamber offices.
With additional space available in Pacifica Suites' courtyard, the trade show section expanded from 6 to 8 exhibitors: State Farm Insurance, Montecito Bank & Trust, Business First Bank, Senior Planning Services, Glacial Energy, Habitat ReStore, Boys & Girls Club and Santa Barbara Signs & Graphics. Serving as on-site vendor liaison for the first time was Ambassador Ignacio Gallardo, Employer Relations Coordinator, Career Services for UCSB.
"I really enjoyed greeting our vendors and helping them get set up the afternoon of the event," says Ignacio. "It seems like everyone there had a great experience and made some terrific business contacts." He points out that any Chamber member is eligible to have a Business After Hours vendor table for only $25, but space is very limited-so be sure to sign up as soon as possible for the next event with Kim "Max" White, Director of Business Development and Volunteers.
We enthusiastically acknowledge Pacifica Suites' General Manager Alan Hurd and Sales Manager/Chamber Ambassador Tiffany Lesperance, for planning and hosting a beautiful, classy event. Starting in April, future Business After Hours will be held on the THIRD Wednesday of each month, moved back from the fourth. The next one is on April 21st from 5:00-7:00pm at Valle Verde Retirement Community.
