Santa Barbara Airbus Hosts a Rockin’ BBQ!
The Mayor of Goleta sure knows how to throw a great party! When his 27-year-old company, Santa Barbara Airbus, hosted the Goleta Valley Chamber's Business After Hours mixer on June 16th at their new Technology Drive location, CEO Eric Onnen pulled out all the stops.
Guests relaxed and enjoyed hot dogs and hamburgers grilled on an outdoor barbecue, drinks, announcements and door prizes on a beautiful, warm summery evening. It was a delightful surprise for many to discover the thriving organic vegetable garden that Santa Barbara Airbus has established on the property, filled with lettuce, corn, tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and much more!
Trade Show exhibitors included Ameravant Web Design, Del Hegland New York Life, Silent Pictures Custom Framing and Senior Planning Services.
A variety of vehicles were on display for tours, from an antique 1950s Greyhound bus renovated into a motor home (owned by an employee) to the newest Airbus jewel--an upscale 35-passenger Limo Bus, painstakingly upgraded with black leather banquet seats, wet bar, wi-fi access, dance-style lighting and a state-of-the-art video and stereo system that provided a rock'n'roll soundtrack for the event. The Limo Bus (plus a second to follow upon its completion) will be available for wine tours, wedding parties, corporate events, Dodger games and other group excursions.
Mayor/CEO Onnen also shared the news that, starting June 1st, the Airbus LAX schedule has expanded to 18 trips per day.
Chamber president Kristen Amyx announced that long-time vice president Valerie Kushnerov was leaving to take a position with the City of Goleta, and introduced her replacement, Cortney Hebert, as the new Business and Communications Coordinator.
Be sure not to miss the Chamber's next Business After Hours, 5:00-7:00 pm on July 21 at the lovely Oreana Winery & Marketplace in Santa Barbara's popular "Funk Zone."
